Nikolai, Principal of Koolik & Associates Lawyers is a local resident and has lived in the area all his life. Having previously worked in small legal offices, Nikolai has amassed years of experience in providing legal advice in many areas. He is most passionate about family law, Wills and estates and conveyancing because, in his experience, these 3 broad areas often have the largest impact on average families and local communities.
Koolik & Associates began from Nikolai’s desire to provide service oriented but cost effective legal outcomes for his clients.
Nikolai’s primary focus when providing legal services centres around communication, to ensure your best interests are taken care of, and secondly, to make sure you are given the service you deserve and to take as much stress as possible out of the legal process.
Nikolai is also a qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and can thus chair Family Law mediations and issue Section 60I Certificates that are required before you commence Court proceedings relating to family law parenting arrangements.

Jessica is local to the Moreton Bay area and joined the team at Koolik & Associates in 2017.
Jessica is driven to achieve the best outcome for her clients and to find solutions, not problems. She understands that people often engage solicitors during a difficult time in their lives and her empathetic and compassionate approach takes the stress away from her clients.
Jessica completed a Master of Laws in 2014, specialising in family law, estate planning and guardianship.
She also has a wealth of experience with domestic violence matters, representing both applicants and respondents. Jessica has also previously worked as the Domestic Violence Duty Lawyer at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, or facing allegations of domestic violence, Jessica has the knowledge, experience and understanding to guide you through your matter.
Kerry started her employment with our firm in October 2010 as our conveyancing paralegal. Throughout her more than 30 years working in the legal and conveyancing fields she has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Kerry understands that buying and/or selling can often be stressful which is why she believes communication is the key. First and foremost is communication with clients, but also communication with the other parties involved in the conveyance, including real estate agents, other law firms, financial institutions, brokers etc. Kerry ensures all parties are kept up-to-date with the progress of their conveyance and is always available for her clients.
Kerry’s dedication to her clients is reflected in her work ethic which ensures the conveyance is completed as smoothly as possible to minimise stress.
Kerry’s expertise is also utilised to assist with property matters relating to other firm practice areas such as family law and estates.
Kaylene has been with Koolik & Associates since it opened in April 2010. She is our gifted “go to” Office Manager/Bookkeeper and IT guru. Kaylene has both a legal and accounting background with over 24 years’ experience making her an invaluable asset to the firm.
Kaylene has a wealth of knowledge gathered from working within the legal industry, including secretarial support to solicitors, barristers and judges in many areas of law.
The other valuable string to Kaylene’s bow is her bookkeeping skills having previously provided support to a number of accountancy and legal firms.
Personal Assistant / Paralegal
Hamsah joined our firm in early 2015. Hamsah has accumulated her extensive knowledge and experience from her 20+ years performing various administrative and paralegal roles within the legal industry in the areas of Wills and Estates, Commercial Property, Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property, Debt Recovery, Personal Injury and Family Law.
Hamsah’s friendly nature and fantastic organisational skills suit her well in her role of Personal Assistant to Nikolai.
Receptionist / Administrative Assistant
Shinai joined our firm in mid 2015 to begin her career in the legal industry. She is quickly developing her knowledge and understanding of family law, Wills and estates while specialising her experience in conveyancing as our Conveyancing Administrative Assistant.
Shinai’s previous hospitality experience has developed her client relationship skills. This, together with her happy, mature nature and her desire to help others is evidenced in her role as the first point of contact with our office.
